Philly is more than the Eagles and cheesesteaks

Philadelphia’s most famous moniker is the City of Brotherly Love but it’s also known as the City of Neighborhoods. This is because each section (neighborhood) of Philadelphia is given a name and has its own distinct vibe and subculture. The main downtown area of Philadelphia is known as Center City. Center City is where you find lots of shops, restaurants and skyscrapers, home to many well-known companies like Aramark and Citizens Bank. Some of the neighborhoods that make up Philly include Chestnut Hill to the northwest, where the affluent families of the city had their summer homes back in the 1800s, and Point Breeze to the south. There are some great ethnic neighborhoods in Philly as well. Little Saigon, Cambodia town and little Italy are just a few. Just off Roosevelt Boulevard/US 1 is the city’s Korea town where you can find lots of yummy cheap eats.

Here is a pic of my cook-at-your-table K-bbq feast at Seorabol on Old 2nd Street in North Philly.

OK, enough about Philly for now. More to come about Philly in later posts. Time for the first road trip of the summer…the Jersey Shore!
